Wooden Gua Sha Tool

A$49.00

Tend to the Shen (Spirit)

Use the Wooden GuaSha tool in ritual to connect to your Shen (Spirit). With tender flowing movements, stimulate Qi, remove stagnation and release disharmony in the entire body via the meridians that traverse the face and head.

GuaSha is often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This inside-out beauty practice comes from its ability to boost internal vitality via the meridian pathways of the body, then reflected in the skin. The ‘Sha’ or the flushed colouring of the skin that appears after the use of GuaSha tools is a sign of healing; as blood and Qi flow to the area.

In Vedic culture, using a wooden comb through the hair can soothe and offset unwanted energy. Routine smoking of a wooden comb with incense or similar is recommended to keep the comb purified.

How to use

  1. Move comb along the scalp with small circular movements to ‘unwind’ stagnant Qi held in the meridians of the scalp and face.

  2. Use along the sides & back of the neck

  3. Use around the jaw to relieve tension

  4. Can also be used as a detangler for curly hair without causing ‘frizz’ or along the limbs to improve circulation

Green sandalwood is very unique; as the natural wood interacts with the oils of the skin and scalp, it changes to reflect its namesake with a green/hazel hue. It also has a subtle, beautiful woody aroma.

Made from Green Sandalwood. Please note that as this is a natural material, each piece is unique.
